Wayne Taylor’s No. 10 Konica Minola Cadillac DPi team defended its overall title with another DPi victory in 2020. In the LMP2 class, the No. 81 DragonSpeed team easily cruised to victory. In GTLM, the tightest class of the race, BMW Team RLL’s No. 24 eventually pulled away from the pair of Porsche 911s. The No. 48 Lamborghini of Paul Miller Racing easily won the GTD class.

Rolex 24 at Daytona 2020 live updates

— 1:40 p.m. ET: Checkered flag.

— 12:11 p.m. ET: About 90 minutes left. The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing DPI has a 36-second lead on P2. The No. 81 DragonSpeed LMP2 leads its class by two laps. A potentially exciting finish in the GTLM, where Porsche No. 912 leads the No. 24 BMW by about a tenth of a second. The Speedstar No. 88 Audi is ahead of the rest of the GTD field by about a lap.

— 8:47 a.m. ET: The No. 19 GEAR Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 catches fire with Christina Nielsen at the wheel. She gets out of the car OK, and the incident brings out a caution.

— 8:19 a.m. ET: The No. 10 DPi team, which has led overall for most of the race, is forced to serve a penalty after running a red light at the end of pit road.

— 7:30 a.m. ET: The field sets the record for the longest green flag run in Rolex 24 history at 246 laps. It finally ends with a full course caution about 30 minutes later.

— 9:51 p.m. ET: The second caution of the race came in hour eight, as the No. 38 LMP2 went into some tires. Seems recoverable, though.

— 8:52 p.m. ET: An extremely disappointing race for Aston Martin, which has now retired both of its cars. It’s not clear what happened to the Aston Martin Racing No. 98.

— 7:40 p.m. ET: This was nearly a disaster, but luckily no major damage. Currently, there are three Cadillac DPi’s in the top five.

— 7:25 p.m. ET: The first caution came nearly five hours into the race, and now it’s been announced the Heart of Racing’s No. 23 GTD Aston Martin’s race is over due to damage. Driver Alex Riberas is uninjured, though. The No. 47 Precision Performance car, somehow, needed little repair.

— 5:22 p.m. ET: The No. 55 is issued a drive-through penalty for an incident with the No. 7 in the bus stop. Both cars continue, but the No. 7 goes back to the garage for repairs.

— 4:30 p.m. ET: A few hours and 100 laps into the race, we’re still caution- and incident-free. The No. 25 BMW team did have some issues with a right front wheel nut that cost them a lap. There have been nine overall lead changes in a smooth race this far.

— 1:40 p.m. ET: The green flag for the 2020 Rolex 24 at Daytona waves.
