“It would be a tragedy if I had to leave," White told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I haven’t spoken to anybody. I haven’t been given clarity about anything.”

Throughout the season, White saw a diminished role with the Falcons, making only 43 receptions for 506 yards and one touchdown. While White is 34, he still thinks he has some time left to play.

“Do I wish I could be a more significant part of the offense? Absolutely,” White said. “But that’s not what they wanted me to do and you have to enjoy and embrace the role you have.”

Much of White’s reduced role has to do with new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, with whom White said he “didn’t have any problems” on a personal level, but on a work level expectations might have been different.

“Maybe what he expected from me and I expected for myself — the bridge just broke down,” White said. “What I expected for me was what I always did. He had another plan for me, but you expect that when there’s a new regime.”
